Location: Tensta Konsthall, classroom and caravan at Taxingeplan. February-May, 2023
The course was held (2023) for students of architecture and art pedagogy, on Wednesday afternoons between February and May, with lectures by the artists Apolonija Sustersic, Afrang Nordlöf Malekian and George Chamoun, and the design historian and theorist Kerstin Wickman, as well as the architectural theorist and historian Isabelle Doucet.
It included a workshop with children at Tensta Art Center during the spring school holidays. During the konstkollo (art camp), we explored Tensta from the viewpoint of archeologists with eleven children between the ages of eight and fifteen. We discovered Tensta through walks and observations, by collecting found things — materials, images and videos — as well as conversations with people we met along the way. Based on the walking experiences, we worked with podcasts, maps and a collection of objects that constituted an archeology of Tensta for us. Based on our findings, we speculated on Tensta’s future. In addition to the podcast, we created a map of Tensta on the classroom floor with markings of places we think are important for the area.
With Apolonija Šušteršič (The Political Classroom project), George Chamoun and Sarah Guarino Werner, at Tensta konsthall, and Emílio da Cruz Brandão, KTH. Supported by Familjebostäder, Svenska Bostäder and Stockholmshem.
